farewell, september
it took me a while to recall what i did this past month because i feel like i got nothing done but what else is new!!!! in reality, it wasn’t so bad. i went to new york in the beginning of september (that was this month?!) to support my sister with @eatdomi during a weekend of smorgasburg. my visit to the city was mainly only to work, so i didn’t get a chance to do much else. HOWEVER. i did go to mary h.k. choi’s launch for Permanent Record!!! (i actually bought my flight back on a later day just so i could make it to the event.)
puff me up, fam took a v challenging cycling class & became obsessed but had to leave nyc :((( from permanent record’s launch
after i came back, it was back to the normal schedule. we started rehearsals for the annual ballet performance; it’s been busy. i’ve been learning and teaching choreography for the past few weeks, but it doesn’t seem extreme. most of my days are spent taking photos, editing videos, dancing in a studio, and going to bed. i realize most of life is waking up, doing consistent work, and making small changes.
but as i think of things that’ve been on my mind, i realize there are some new things. i started journaling again! i realize this happens every autumn. the changing leaves and weather really get to me :”) i also started training for a half marathon i signed up for. the thought of it makes my hands sweat; i didn’t think it would be that bad but training for it has been,,,,,, real rough. i also got a film camera!! finally!!! it was a process. i tried to buy one on depop, but it came defective; returned it and ordered another one on depop, but the seller never shipped the item; then FINALLY i decided to buy the body on depop and lens on ebay and i got it~~~ i still haven’t decided on a name yet though.
the most delicious korean meal to celebrate the mid-autumnal festival :”) my new child !! a lot of sweaty soul selfies

ahhhh it’s been so long since i last wrote anything for the blog… (insert crying emoji here)
the past month and a half has just been super packed for me since coming back to school, and i haven’t had as much free time as i would have liked. i got back to nyc on august 22 and went to the poconos for a few days for a retreat with christian union, a club on campus that i’m really involved in! at retreat, we planned a ton of events for freshman orientation, which was the following week. the actual week of orientation was honestly pretty overwhelming, draining, and stressful, but still really fun and overall a good experience!! i got a lot closer to some friends and also met a lot of the new freshmen at barnard/columbia, which has been super super great :))
classes started on september 4, and the first two weeks of the semester are always crazy since everyone’s schedules are constantly shifting and changing, but i finally figured out what classes i’m taking this semester (korean, modern dance, abnormal psych, stats, and major texts of east asia)! i’ve been enjoying most of them so far, especially modern, although i feel like the pace in most of them has been pretty slow…. i’m honestly ready for the content in my classes to pick up a bit, haha. besides classes, my schedule has been pretty packed with club meetings/rehearsals, shifts for my part-time job, meals with friends, and obviously homework, which really doesn’t leave a lot of time for much else. so yeah! now you know what’s been going on in my life over the past several weeks (not too exciting lol), and i’ll include some pics/highlights!

media consumed
i thought i didn’t read at all that much this month BUT i completely forgot: i read/listened to The Dragon Republic!!! and it ruined me!!!!! i’d started it without realizing there would be another book and fuuuuuuuuuuuck. (pls go read it !!!!!)
as i speak, i’m making my way through The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo and i’m *keyboard smash*. Y’ALL. this book is everything. the hype? i feel it. i get it.

i’ve barely had any time to consume any sort of media this month (insert crying emoji again) — i actually don’t think i read a single book in the past month. i also haven’t watched any movies or shows, but i have listened to a few podcasts! i’ve been slowly working my way through this sermon series about singleness and have definitely been enjoying it so far! not sure if many of you will find it relevant/interesting, but it’s been encouraging for me.
foresights of october
october!! libra season!!! i’m not even particularly excited for libra season, but i’m proud that i know astrology well enough that i know what season it is. anyway. autumn is REAL. i’m wearing a hoodie as i type and i am READY. as for goals, i’m actually determined to complete them because i made PLANS to get there. can you feel my enthusiasm? (i’m really trying)
- live more sustainably – try a week zero waste (i’m actually starting now!!)
- prioritize rest (i feel like i’m burning out and,,, it’s not cute)
- drink more water pls
- keep yourself accountable
- among other things

it’s almost october!!! i’m so ready for it to actually feel like fall and have some ~sweater weather~
fall is probably my favorite season, since the weather’s perfect and everything feels so cozy! i’m really looking forward to hanging out with my roommate this weekend, since it’s been forever since we went downtown together. i’m also excited to continue learning about dance in my modern 1 class and also in clubs! the particular dance group i’m part of puts on a dance show every semester, and people audition for pieces they like – no experience required! i’ve been learning the choreography for two different pieces, which has been challenging but super fun!
i have a few midterms coming up in the next few weeks, but i think school will calm down a bit after that, so i’m too worried about classes right now. i definitely need to work on time management (typical) and productivity, but i’ve been getting by okay so far! i definitely want to post more blog content (i’m thinking of a food update / something about college struggles lol) so look out for that!
other than classes and clubs, i don’t have anything planned except spending time with friends! i’d love to walk through manhattan with my friend again before the weather gets too cold – unfortunately, the autumns in new york are way too short….. i guess that just means i have to make the most of it!
