farewell, february
alexandra:
the january blogging game was going strong then i dropped off the face of the earth in february lol. but in my defense, i was so!! busy!!! irl and couldn’t find the motivation to Make Content. t’was a struggle. i planned things, but didn’t end up drafting/publishing anything so *sigh* but here’s what i did instead:

i went to barcelona! i mentioned this in last month’s wrapup but it happened!!! it was for a ballet audition (the job hunt continues :////) so i didn’t have as much time to explore but i still enjoyed the trip. the city is so so beautiful and i’d love to visit again.
after that, i flew back home for a week and now i’m in new york~~ i’ll actually be here until the end of march but yeah, also here for auditions. (THE JOB HUNT CONTINUES ;——-;) for the first time, i’m not exploding with joy at the idea of being in the city. it’s not that i’m unhappy here by any means, but idk it feels different. maybe it’s because i’m getting older/more tired? or because it’s colder? or because i have a group of lovely friends at home as well as here?
anyway, i’ve been feeling a lot of mixed emotions about life and just – *sigh* although, i spent a lot of time meeting up with people/hanging out with friends (incl priscilla!!) this month and it’s the best ever. would highly recommend friends. i almost never meet up with people but this month was the exception and i’m a fan.
some other things: went to philadephia by myself for a day, encountered two celebrity sitings in new york already, tried sO many food places
priscilla:
february seriously flewwww by, wow…. i’ve been back at school for over a month now, and it’s honestly been pretty tiring and busy. this semester, i’m taking korean, chinese (YES, TWO LANGUAGES – AKA BAD IDEA), a seminar on language and power, the science of living well, and african dance. i loveee my korean class! african dance is also really fun, but the other classes aren’t as amaazing as i expected (oh well). btw, i’m planning to post a recap of my fall semester, aka my first semester in college! stay tuned for that :))

it’s been great spending time with friends – i also got to meet up with xan when she came to new york, which was super super fun! mostly, though, i’ve just been kinda consumed by school and clubs and homework and work (i just started a new job!). i’ve been pretty busy and really tired, and honestly the end of january and beginning of february were pretty rough, and my mood was pretty low (for no particular reason ://). basically just lots and lots of emotions…. thankfully, things are somewhat better now, and i’m really thankful for the support from my friends. it’s so important to have a good support system :’) make sure you all take care of yourselves emotionally, mentally, and physically <333
also i kinda started meditating again (although somewhat inconsistently)! if you haven’t tried meditating before, i’d definitely recommend giving it a try – i find that it generally helps me feel more calm 🙂

the biggest difference this month was that i got a gym membership! it’s one of those things that you always mean to do but never actually end up doing, so i’m really happy it happened. since then, i’ve been going basically every day and i know for some people this is nothing but i’m very proud of myself for getting active!!
i’ve also been super into fashion lately. i love going through the galleries they post on vogue and screenshotting my favorite outfits. i’ve been trying to be more daring with my clothing shopping (i wore pom pom earrings the other day!) and i hope by the time i go to college, i have a sense of style that i totally love. if anyone has any affordable shopping recs, pls let me know!
otherwise, i just went through my normal life. i heard back from a few colleges (good news!) and am waiting for more the next month. also started ap calc which is . . . not a class i love, but i know i’ll be happy i survived at the end.
media consumed
alexandra:
books have been on the back burner since the month started…. ha…. ha…. normally, i would listen to audiobooks but i wasn’t in the mood so that didn’t happen. i didn’t read and i wasn’t motivated to do so, so whatever. it was definitely because i was simply busy irl, but the break was/is nice.
however, i’ve been listening to A LOT of music. this is what i’ve been doing instead of audiobook-ing!! i’m normally not a big music person, but i found so many good songs lately.
priscilla:
i have not….been reading books……. :’)) last month i read a few malcolm gladwell books, which i really enjoyed! but since i’m at school now and don’t have access to my physical book collection, it’s a lot harder to read. i HAVE been reading a lottt of webtoons, and i STRONGLY recommend a good day to be a dog!! it’s one of my favorites right now – super super cute and sooo good :))
as for things i’m watching right now, i started mister sunshine on netflix recently, and it’s pretty good! true to the name of “kdramas”, it’s very very dramatic – definitely a slow burning romance. it’s definitely very different from what i expected, but i like it so far! i’ve also been watching a few webdramas (basically shorter kdramas), and i highly recommend love playlist!
finally, music! seventeen (one of my favorite groups) had a comeback in february, and all the songs on their new album are seriously bops! also, the choreos for home (mv || dance practice) and good to me are so so good – y’all NEED to watch these!! there were a bunch of other really good kpop releases this month, and i learned about a lot of them from my friend kat’s newsletter, so check her out and subscribe if you want kpop updates!
haley:
i only read ONE book this month, which was “night” by elie wiesel, a holocaust survivor, for school. it was really dark and sickening and idk not much to say other than it made me really upset.
i also watched life is beautiful for school (also about the holocaust) and the first time i saw it, i only saw the beginning and the end. turns out watching the entire movie from start to finish makes it all that much better and it is SERIOUSLY my favorite movie ever. if you have to watch one movie in your life, let it be this one. warms and breaks your heart in one sitting.
i also watched bohemian rhapsody which was also extremely beautiful and extremely sad. i don’t want to give anything away, but rami malek SO deserved that oscar for best actor. even if you’re not a queen fan, it’s a movie worth watching!
and lastly, i watched three seasons of gossip girl. i read the books when i was in grade 3/4, and it’s so surreal to be following these characters again when i’m their age. that’s all!
foresights of march
alexandra:
alrighty march, i’m desperately hoping you’ll be better in terms of my mental and emotional stability. i’m going to be doing A LOT of ballet auditions and just hoping everything will fall into place. please. if you don’t see me on social media/blog/yt, you know where i’ll be… (the ballet studio or in bed). MARCHING ON.
priscilla:
ahhh i CAN’T believe tomorrow is the first day of march (as of the time i’m writing this)….. and by the time this post is published, it’ll actually be march, wow. time seriously flies!
i’m actually pretty excited for march! i’ll have a wholeee week off for spring break, and i’m planning to stay in the city, explore new places, and eat lots and lots of good food! if anyone has recommendations for places to go in nyc, please let me know in the comments :)) my birthday also falls in spring break, and i’ll be turning 19 on march 19, 2019, which is kinda cool haha!
haley:
i’ll be going to shanghai next month so if anyone has any recs, PLEASE. i don’t know anyone there or anything about it, so it’d be super awesome if someone can tell me what to see/do/eat!
for the next month, i just want to watch more movies and write more. i started writing a novel freshman year and finished it the summer before junior year and haven’t touched it since then. i really really really want to get it edited and done by the end of this year! wish me luck guys.
1. omg a Good Day to Be A Dog is legit one of the BEST webtoons EVER, I genuinely love it so much!! I seriously regret reading ahead on scanlations…
2. i totally wish I could get a gym membership. I’m semi-active, but it’s kind of on and off which is bad… I want to get into a more regular schedule!
ahh!! u should totally go for it.. remembering that i was paying money for the gym made me feel guilty when i didn’t go so i was exercising every day because of that!
