I’m so excited to read this book!!! HAHAHA I’ll probably feel the same about the romance. I don’t like when romance is center-focus but sometimes when it’s not I’m craving more from it.

This review makes me want to read American Panda !! I saw you moving this book to “want to read” list and I checked the book out but wasn’t very excited with the title or description. However, this review kinda convinced me to give it a chance! I am chinese Indonesian and I was also born on the year of tiger !!
Funny thing is , in an interview, Gloria herself said if Mei has a twitter account it would be @TwirlingPanda !!!!!
This is the whole interview :

That’s a really good way to put it – that even if a story isn’t *your* story, it’s still valid if it’s telling *someone’s* experience.
I’ve been hearing a lot of hype about this book. Great review! You have me really excited to read it!

I really loved reading your perspective on this book!! Thanks so much for sharing!!

I’m excited to read this book. It looks super cute and I love dance, so that’s something I have in common with Mei also 🙂

I’m so glad you loved this book 😀 I read it too, and LOVED IT SO MUCH! I’m Chinese, not Chinese-American, but I could really relate to some of Mei’s experiences. My parents are not as traditional as Mei’s though!
(AND I AGREE WE NEED MORE MEI + DARREN MOMENTS!!)
