farewell, march
alexandra:
ah, march. i don’t think anyone expected you to turn out the way you did. a big thing for me was that i took a social media detox and deleted all social media apps and blocked all websites. it was super intimidating for me, but i actually really enjoyed my time off socials! i’ll be sharing a youtube video of my experience in the coming days.
making art these BA cookies were solid i got a cozy sweater & love
a lot of people asked me what i’ve been up to since then, and it’s really low key. without my unhealthy mindless scrolling, i’ve been able to focus on making art (for homework), brainstorming ideas, and enjoying the present. then coronavirus kicked us in the face lmao! i quit my yoga teaching job (but hope to get back to it once the whole situation chills); classes at the ballet studio were halted; and i, like the rest of the world, began a self imposed quarantine.
quarantine life wasn’t so different from my day-to-day life since i spend a lot of my time at home anyway. i used it as an opportunity to blog more and youtube more. i went on a lot of walks with my parents, and baked various cakes, breads, cookies, and other things. it was calming and a chance to reset.
priscilla:
ahhhh goodbye march, you will be missed :(( i don’t think anyone really expected this month to go the way it did, but here we all are, stuck at home for the foreseeable future! despite all the craziness, it was still a pretty good month for me. here are some of the highlights:
- took lots of photos of and with my beautiful friends
- told someone i liked them (for the first time ever) and got rejected 😛 but i am okay!!
- pulled an all nighter with friends and saw the sunrise after finding out that our school cancelled classes for 3 days
- hung out with friends…a LOT
- went to riverside park and saw a lot of sunsets
- took lots of walks
- celebrated my birthday over zoom!
- came home to california (i miss ny)
- found cute baby/kid photos
love love love my friends i miss my roommate birthday call! back to california i was cute aw
media consumed
alexandra:
you’d think without social media, i’d read more but NOPE AHA. it’s weird because i don’t think i consumed that much media aside from music. lauv released a new album, as did jhené aiko, and i love. AND!!!!!! SEVENTEEN dropped a music video which is literally a work of fucking art:
priscilla:
i’ve been lowkey in the mood for making playlists so here‘s a playlist i made for some of my favorite k-indie songs! if you haven’t heard of k-indie, it stands for korean indie, and it’s basically really soft/chill music and overall just ~good vibes~ so go check it out :))
i recently started reading the starless sea on my flight back since so many people have recommended it and it’s kinda a LOT to process since the story is so intricate but i’m enjoying it!
i’ve also been reading the meaning of marriage by tim keller and obviously i am not married HAHA but i think it’s such an interesting read. tim keller offers such a new and refreshing perspective on marriage, and regardless of what your faith background is, i’d definitely recommend it!
foresights of april
alexandra:
a new month! here are my goals / plans:
- meditate!!!! this has been a goal of mine for a long time, but i’m going to document my 30-day ~journey~ because that has been the only way for me to keep myself accountable
- resume ballet… online?! we’re launching it today so we’ll see how it goes
- continue – creative things, fitness endeavors, penpaling, and better habits
priscilla:
i’m officially home now and still trying to settling in. my family actually just moved to a new house, so i’ve been unpacking and organizing, and i’m excited to have everything in its place. there are definitely a lot of goals i have, including some of the ones i wrote about in my birthday post. since i’ll be stuck at home for a while, this will be a good time to marie kondo my room, learn guitar, build my photography portfolio, learn to cook, bake, work out, reading, blogging, and (possibly) making tiktoks?? hahaha i caved and downloaded the app recently soooo we’ll see how that goes!
March has been a crazy month – let’s hope April is better!
I’ve been in self-isolation for a week and a half now. It’s going okay! I’m getting a lot done and the cabin fever hasn’t hit too badly for now. XD
I’ve managed to read quite a bit, post a few more blog posts, study, exercise now that I’ve recovered from my cold, do Bible study, bookstagram…I’m trying to keep myself as busy as possible. 😀
