if you know anything about my fashion sense, you’d know i am EVERLANE TRASH. everlane is a brand that focuses on ethical production and radical transparency. i am HERE FOR THIS.
they recently launched a new line called tread by everlane, which are essentially their take on trainers/sneakers. they’re the world’s lowest impact sneakers and i’m was ready for it. although, do i really need another pair of cute sneakers that aren’t actually used for fitness but for fashion? no but i’m getting it anyway. when they announced their downtown LA pop-up, i knew i had to visit. so, i put it in my calendar, drove down to DTLA, and got to exploring.
i was debating between the off-white vs blush colors and i’m so glad i tried them on in-store. they’re both so cute, but i ended up getting the blush. originally, i probably would’ve gone with the white but the blush is a lot lighter than i expected.
the quality of these sneakers feel REALLY good. and honestly? i feel like it’s worth more than the price. it truly feels like a luxury or high-end shoe. the base/sole of the shoe is surprisingly solid and heavy, while the top of the shoe is soft. i have fairly wide feet and didn’t feel any discomfort on the sides when i was breaking them in. i do want to say they were a little hard to put on and the heel is higher than i thought it’d be. the problem could be easily solved by loosening the laces, but *shrug*. once the shoes are actually on, everything is fine and dandy.
i have zero regrets about getting these shoes even though: 1) i know i don’t NEED these shoes, 2) i have a bunch of other “fashionable sneakers”, and 3) i wasn’t planning on getting these shoes when they were initially released. these have quickly become my favorite shoes of the season and i love them so so much.
also!! when i went to their pop-up, they provided me with a free sneaker cleaning solution and brush. made me so happY!! i’m all about non-toxic cleaning methods!! this was a great bonus especially since these are light colored shoes and they get dirty so quickly. *sigh*
