i wasn’t tagged, but saw this originally on Viktoria’s blog! i tag anyone who’s interested~~
OMG I HAVEN’T DONE A TAG IN SO LONG. when i first began book blogging, they were my favorite things. i don’t see many around anymore but when i saw this one i was like, I HAVE TO DO IT. even though there’s christmas music playing while i’m typing this and autumn is nearly over. π *CRIES*
1. best autumnal themed book cover
lately i’ve been IN LOVE with the Turtles All the Way Down cover (also because that book is the greatest!! ever!!!!!). there’s something about orange spirals that make it feel super autumn. but the Mara Dyer books also have wonderfully autumn themed covers (and allllll the creepy vibes).
2. which fictional friend group would you trust with an ouija board?
the gang from A Darker Shade of Magic. for some reason, i feel like thet’d be so fun together. can you imagine them asking questions and ~spirits~ from the other London responding?!
3. which setting would you love to be celebrating in during halloween night?
i’m going to go wiiiiiiiith Caraval, by Stephanie Garber! the setting in Caraval is super magical and mysterious, which i think would make a great combo. it’s not too creepy to the point where you’ll wet your pants, but creepy enough to get all the chills. honorable mention: The Night Circus, by Erin Morgenstern.
4. best autumnal food description inside a story
i can’t think of any?????? but Heartless, by Marissa Meyer has the BEST food descriptions. would not recommend reading that book while hungry.
5. which fictional character would you dress as?
i actually didn’t dress as anyone this halloween but if i could go back in time (and let my inner self SHINE), i’d choose feyre from A Court of Thorns and Roses or tessa from The Infernal Devices. but in all honesty, i’d probably actually just dress up as lara jean from To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before because everyone says i look like her?????
6. an antagonist you would pledge your allegiance to
does kaz brekker from Six of Crows count as an antagonist?? i know he doesn’t really, but i’m just going to go with it. psh, i pledged my allegiance to Kaz the moment he destroyed the other gangs in like, THE FIRST CHAPTER.
7. the creepiest book you’ve ever read?
i want to say You, by Caroline Kepnes, but i never finished it. aside from that, i’d have to go with The Walls Around Us. i don’t even remember much aside from the fact it was about ballet dancers, murderers, and it was SO CREEPY. the Mara Dyer books are also ones i wouldn’t read at night. *gets goosebumps*
8. a book you’ve yet to read but will read this october november
october is clearly over and i didn’t read any creepy books. WELP. i’ve been wanting to There’s Someone Inside Your House, but knowing me, i’d may not read it any time soon. it really depends on my mood. *HIDES*
9. which fictional character would you put in charge of the decorations for a halloween party
magnus bane would probably throw a rad party with his warlock powers. can you imagine?! orange and black sparkles everywhere, bones as wall decorations β ones that are moving; talking jack-o’-lanterns?
I love tags like this and awesome answers! When I started blogging tags were like the only thing I did. Haha π
Awesome answer Xan! It’s been a while since I saw you that I didn’t recognize you in the picture. Did you dye your hair? π Anyway, I agree, I would totally trust Magnus to decorate for Halloween. It will be creepy and full of glitters!
This is such a cool tag. And you mentioned so many books either I’ve never heard of or that are waiting to be read in the ever growing pile of books beside my bed. Definitely going to add a few of these to that pile I think!
