this week’s topic: authors i REALLY want to meet. i’ve only met two authors in my lifetime: the first being someone who came to my elementary school and wrote picture books, the second being lisi harrison (the clique series). i’ve changed a lot since then (echm i started reading YA), and so i have A LOT of authors i love and admire. creating a list of only ten? that’ll be difficult. without further ado, here are the top ten authors i REALLY want to meet:
let’s be totally honest here: who doesn’t want to meet john green? the fault in our stars is one of my all-time favorite books and he is one of my all-time favorite authors. in some ways, i feel like i already know him because of his vlogbrothers videos. i’m a die-hard fangirl.
RIICCCKKKKK. the percy jackson series was my LIFE. i admire his work so so so much. i’d probably scream and cry if i met him.
i follow rainbow rowell on twitter and she seems like such hilarious and down-to-earth person. judging from her über relatable books, i feel like she really understands teenagers and people. i just want to talk to her and meet her, okay? her books are great and SHE’S great.
i love meeting people who know what’s up and cassandra clare knows what’s up. she responds to people on twitter, appreciates fan art/fandoms, creates beautiful stories, and most importantly, watches korean dramas need i say more?!?!?

my goal is to live an artsy lifestyle and tahereh mafi is the artsy-est author i know. her writing and photos and everything is so poetic and beautfiul. i’d love to meet her in person so she could sprinkle some fairy dust on me and hopefully i’ll be as fantastic as her. (a girl can only dream.)
the main reason i want to meet brandon sanderson is because i need real-life proof that he’s a human being. i don’t believe any human can write a book that is so well put together and BIG. he’s written like a hundred books (obviously exaggerating, but a lot), and they’re all fantastic? how is that humanly possible??????
i talk about alex on this blog all the time. if you’ve read any of my posts, you’d know I LOVE HER. obviously, i’d love to meet her someday. <333333
the first question i’d have for maggie: “HOW DO YOU PRONOUNCE YOUR LAST NAME?” i’ve been guessing and (probably) failing for the past five years. i need to know. i love her books and tweets. her art is also absolutely GORGEOUS.
i’m fairly sure marie lu lives somewhere close to where i am, so meeting her would be SO COOL. she’s also chinese, like myself, and meeting an author from the same culture makes me super happy and excited! i love her books and everything is just gahhhhh.
I LOVE TAVI. she’s the founder and creator of one of my favorite websites ever – rookie magazine. she’s written so many insightful and inspirational things that’d changed my perspective on life. and the thing is, SHE’S STILL A TEEEEEN. well, kinda. tavi only recently became an “adult” so our ages aren’t too far apart. meeting and talking to her would (i assume) feel the same as talking to any other friend. except for the fact that tavi is amazing and i’d fangirl SO HARD.
which authors do YOU really really want to meet? let me know in the comments!
